Foundation plans are actually pretty simple. They're pretty much a Floor Layout part two with a few other features. The foundation plans consist of different assorted layers, hatches and notes as well as arrows. The different layers show the different materials needed for each space, such as the material inside the walls and the posts and beams that hold the walls and ceiling up. The foundation plans let the builders know where all the hidden components of the house go and what to make them out of. Things such as the concrete in the foundation walls and the beams that go across the ceiling to support the roof and the location of load-bearing walls can be found here. Notes are also on this plan to indicate what things are and where things go. It describes what wood to use on the decks or how far the certain notes apply to. They also show the direction the notes indicate. These could mean life or death for the house and the family inside, people. Be vigilant. The foundation plan is also very important to the plan, because if the support beams were in the wrong place or the load-bearing walls were not labeled, the house could very well crumble in on itself. Not to mention, if families decide to bust down a load-bearing wall, the house will surely fall. So yeah; get this part right or people will bust their own house down without even knowing it.
